Herb Alpert brings his trumpet and his wife to the Ventura Music Festival

VC Reporter | By David Cotner - May 7, 2015 -  You may not know the titles — “The Lonely Bull,” “Rise,” “Spanish Flea” (The Dating Game theme song) — but you know the songs to which they belong the moment you hear them. They’re by Herb Alpert, perhaps the most famous trumpeter in the world apart from Miles Davis (or possibly Gonzo on The Muppet Show). With more than 72 million records sold — both solo and with the Tijuana Brass —

New York Times - Review: Herb Alpert and Lani Hall Bring Rhythmic Precision to Café Carlyle

For all his low-key affability, Mr. Alpert doesn’t phone it in. His trumpet solos were models of rhythmic precision, tonal subtlety and expressive understatement, executed without showboating.

New York Times | By Stephen Holden - March 15, 2015 - A relaxed feeling of enjoyment along with a certainty of being in good hands warmed Café Carlyle on Friday evening as Herb Alpert and Lani Hall wafted a mood of easygoing optimism into the room. Mr. Alpert, who mentioned that he will soon turn 80, still embodies the musical attitude nicknamed “laid-back” decades ago, when Southern California was America’s frontier of pleasure.

Emotional Memoirs Audiobook

Huffingtonpost - Lani Hall's Audio Book, EMOTIONAL MEMOIRS, is Worth a Listen!

"When I read her EMOTIONAL MEMOIRS & Short Stories I was so emotionally blown away by the exceptional writing and storytelling"

Huffington Post January 26,  2015 | By Jay Weston - I have never before listened to an audio book. How Luddite is that of me? I am just old-fashioned enough to think that I needed to have the heft of a hardcover book in my hands to read it. To be honest I have never even read an e-book on my computer or iPad. And then I received the audio copy of a book which I had read and raved about last year....and in a reckless moment I put the disc into my car cd-player. Oh, my God, I was hooked!

Herb Alpert & Lani Hall perform to sold-out audience at Skokie theater

Chicagoland Concert & Event Review | By Matt Medlen - October 17, 2014 -  Northshore Center for the Performing Arts of Skokie was the scene for the evening’s sold-out concert with Herb Alpert and Lani Hall. This theater local is quietly set in among a hotel and other business. The Center theater is a wonderfully intimate space with 850+ seat between the main floor, balcony and 6 boxes. The highest seat in the house is a mere 88 feet from the stage. There is plenty of room, yet you still feel close to the action. The staff at the Northshore are first rate. They are eager to make your visit the best possible.
